When searching for the best network marketing opportunity for yourself, there are a few pitfalls you wish to avoid. A good sponsor will run the business based on integrity and honesty. Being a good sponsor means that everyone is the sponsor’s downline gets full support and commitment from him or her. A good sponsor might talk a mile a minute and be enthusiastic about the company, but will not lie to you. Great sponsors will command the respect of the company and network under them.

If you are in doubt as to the integrity of a particular sponsor, ask to communicate directly with some of his downline team. If the sponsor puts you off, then move on. This would indicate that the sponsor has something to hide.

2. Does the company sound too good to be true?

Over the years I have found that one of the secrets to big-time MLM sponsoring is always being prepared to follow through and sponsor prospects without advance notice. Whether you meet a good prospect online or offline, if you are not totally prepared to immediately follow up with that prospect in a professional and efficient manner, you are missing opportunities to build your business.

Nothing will brand you as an amateur faster than telling a hot prospect that you will have to get back with them. And then when you finally do follow up with that lead, their excitement for your business will be gone or they will have found a more skilled sponsor to work with.

It always shocks me that so many people in our industry are not always prepared ahead of time, in spite of the fact that it is so important and easy to do. In fact, most of your preparation can and should be completed the very first day you are in an mlm business.

Do not let your eagerness to build a new business cause you to skip some simple preparations. It will actually save you a tremendous amount of time later on.

And when you do have the follow-up tools ready, you really do not need to know that much about your company to have huge success anyway. I have always taught our team that letting the tools do the talking brings far better results for both new networkers and seasoned veterans alike. And letting the tools do the explaining shows the prospect that they can easily do the business too.

Here is a short list of the kinds of follow-up tools to have ready for both online and offline mlm sponsoring. Even though you will probably not use all of these tools, be sure you are always prepared with a few.
