I am working with a financial services company that mainly markets life insurance.
I need some ideas (no suggestions of companies or opportunities) of great places, social gatherings, etc., where I can meet people that I can approach about life insurance as potential cusomers for my training.

Are you restricted by location? If not then you should probably expand your market by using the Internet. Although I teach as it pertains to MLM, my ideas would definitely apply to your insurance business.

There are many great ways to attract customers. Some examples are as follows.
Article submission.
Proper website design
blogging
forum participation that is relevant to your specialty.
I use online marketing techniques. There is no better tool then the internet for positioning. On the net you can position yourself right in front of the seeker. No need to hassle anyone.
