Mlm Recruiting-Do You Really Need The Internet

Some networkers seem to be really dragging their feet when it comes to getting on board with the new way of marketing their business and doing MLM recruiting. It seems to some as if the internet is only a thorn in their side. So the question comes up, do you really need the internet?

The reality is, if a network marketer is not taking advantage of the internet right now, or even more importantly, not providing some sort of education, they are missing out on customers, prospects and downline members that are being snapped up by people who are using the internet. For example, if a networker is making a routine 50 cold calls a day or making 3 new contacts a day while performing their work and daily routine, they may just happen to come across someone who’s at the right spot in their life and legitimately looking for an opportunity.

Let’s say that the networker has caught them at just the right minute in their day where they’re willing to take the time to listen to them. And let’s say the networker actually manages to arouse the person’s curiosity enough so they’re interested in finding out more. The course of MLM recruiting events goes like this: The networker sets up an appointment with the person to describe the opportunity, the 3-way call with the sponsor and the prospect is scheduled, the prospect is invited to attend a conference call about the opportunity, a DVD or an email with a link to a video that’s all about the opportunity is sent, or the prospect gets sent to the stunning company website which is also all about the one-of-a-kind opportunity. That’s total of 6 pitches already.

Meanwhile, the prospect is researching online themselves about the network marketing opportunity and they discover someone who is providing a free report concerning why most people don’t succeed with their home based business or maybe some free videos concerning how to get leads for free using the net instead of talking to friends and family. Usually what happens is the prospect will provide their name and e-mail in exchange for this information and probably disregard the appointment they set up in the first place. The prospect starts receiving more emails offering useful information from the networker who is using the internet and providing information and it is seen as a helpful guide from someone who’s looking out for them. Trust is built and eventually the prospects asks how they can do duplicate the process.

So, the question ‘do you really need the internet’ is answered….as networker #1 just lost a lead and sabotages their own MLM recruiting efforts. At the bare minimum, networkers need to be online to protect their offline MLM recruiting efforts. As millions of people are getting online, networkers who are applying simple attraction marketing techniques are gathering up prospects in great numbers.

So one can see that the answer to whether or not the internet needs to be used is a resounding yes. Luckily the internet hasn’t come close to reaching its full potential so there’s still plenty of opportunity to learn and use this mega marketing tool.

Publicly Traded MLM Company – Who Really Benefits?

You can’t just innocently believe what they say. Now … I’m sure some of them are telling the truth. But many are lying. And for something like “retention rate,” there are a hundred different ways to figure that. It’s just a matter of choosing the method that gives the result the company likes best.

The safest thing for you to do is to choose a company based on results that YOU can see or that YOU can actually verify.

When you dedicate your life to building your business with a company, you should actually interview a number of distributors with that company and ask about the work they do and the system they use and their actual earnings. And know this, any company-published promotion you read is just that … a company publication.

When you talk to anyone about joining your MLM business, one of the most important factors in their mind is the training. They need to see that you or someone in your group is doing real training, and that it’s easily accessible for them, and that it’s not an overwhelming course. Plus, they want to make money as quickly as possible.

If your training makes people feel like they’re going from L. A. to New York on a donkey, you will lose them. They need to look at it and see it’s quick and easy. Here’s what prospects are thinking, “Uh oh, now I’ll need help training my recruits I bring into this business.” The longer the training takes, the less time they will have to actually bring in new people.

What works best is to have a master mind team that trains all the team members and the new associates they bring in. Have them listen in on some of your training calls and show them all the help they’ll get. Give them your personal contact information, plus that of your upline, so they can get in touch with you whenever they need to. New people need to know that you will be there for them, rather than being stranded in the MLM desert with a stubborn donkey.

In 2004, 30-year MLMer Michael Dlouhy wrote “Success In 10 Steps.” The ideas in this article come from that book, which details the reasons so many people fail in network marketing.

It’s fascinating to discover that some MLM companies set out to find a compensation plan that greatly rewards a few people, and pays virtually nothing to the 99% of reps looking to build a business part-time to achieve their dreams. The idea is that if you can promote a few people who get 6-figure or 7-figure monthly paychecks, that will lure a lot of people into the business. The irony is, there’s only so much money to be divided up.

The more a company pays to its big guns,  the less there is for everybody else. So the vast majority of distributors in a publicly traded MLM company actually get short changed by that stock market status symbol. You’ll find a lot of interesting ideas in this book.

Best MLM Training – Will You Sleep With The Enemy?

Summary:
Many network marketers are looking for the best MLM training they could ever get. What I tell them is, “Learn shat’s in the contract BEFORE you signup.”

Text Box:
When you start in network marketing, you have chosen to agree to some company’s contract. A lot of people don’t realize that, but it is true 100% of the time.

You may not have signed on the dotted line, but the hard cold reality is you checked a box saying you read and agree to the Policies & Procedures. That is required before you can begin marketing any MLM product. And once you have, just like in the old White Owl Cigar commercial, “They GOTCHA”.

So then my friend … did you actually read the Policies and Procedures? (Most people don’t.) That is the legally enforceable agreement you made with the network marketing company that they can one day put before a court.

Do you have any idea what it says? Do you realize what you have locked yourself into? It might make your head spin. Heck, you might be absolutely shocked and even infuriated.

It’s nothing for a company to insert one or more clauses making it clear that you – the rep – may be terminated at any time for any reason with 30 days’ notice. They think this is perfectly acceptable. In fact one MLM president, when asked why his Policies & Procedures were so vicious, he said, “It is what it is, that’s boiler plate text.”

You’ll find companies use this gotcha type of wording on a regular basis. They let it pass until you have good money coming in, and then they terminate you. Who do you think gets your stream of income? Well, you can bet it doesn’t feed starving children.

Do you feel like hyenas are watching you? Keep in mind, this contract was written by company lawyers. Your company probably will not terminate you to steal your check unless they get themselves in financial trouble. But don’t kid your self – you better believe they’ll exercise their options if they think they need to.

If you want a solid foundation for yourself and your family and your team, then you definitely want a contract that won’t allow that company to eat you alive once your check is fat & juicy.

Do you wait by the phone hoping someone calls up to sell you something? No you probably don’t. At the very least, we don’t want some pushy, aggressive salesman using slime ball techniques to close us. You certainly aren’t someone who’d ever want to do that yourself, I’ll bet.

So what would ever possess you to think you could build a MLM business by selling? That is the business-building technique Fred Flinstone used to get Barney Rubble into the first MLM in history. And it’s still what most companies and MLM cave dwellers teach – sell and close. But if you don’t want to do it, and the people you talk to don’t want to do it, how will you ever build a business that way?

Here’s what I know, what works is to just talk with people and find out what their frustrations are. It’s important to them that you really listen so you learn what really motivates them, and what they see as the stumbling blocks. Then show them ways you can work together as a team to solve that problem.

The key is to build a relationship with the person, If you try to sell them that will never happen. And that is a duplicatable system – sales training is absolutely not.

A lot of people in MLM go groopie on the few who make the rock star money. Some ultra heavy hitters make 6 figure or even 7 figure incomes a month. The ebook “Success In 10 Steps” by Michael Dlouhy describes how those guys really look at you as just another exploit on their world tour!

It’s pretty interesting. You’ll get crucial suggestions on how to find a sponsor & company that give you the best opportunity to build a stable business that will be profitable for a long time. Real estate investors say you make your money when you buy the property, by buying it right. That’s also true in an MLM business.

If you start out by putting yourself in the wrong position, you just don’t have a chance for success. You’ll find a lot of value in the ideas in this book. It’s the best MLM training I’ve seen in in over 20 years in the industry … and I’m not alone on that.

I live in the small rural community of Squaw Valley which is nestled in the eastern foothills of the central San Joaquin Valley of California with my wife Charlotte, our son Jeff, & our daughter Joni.

I stumbled around in the MLM desert for about 20 years until I came across Michael Dlouhy’s book “Success In 10 Steps”. Now I know where I’m going & how to get there.
